Usual events in the Society

The Executive Committee of the Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology meets on a regular basis, several times in the year. Once a year, all members are invited to attend the Yearly Meeting of the Society, which includes the Statutory Assembly.

Postgraduate education

The swiss society determines the Postgraduate Training Program in Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology for MDs and PhDs willing to specialise in this discipline. It has the duty of organising Certification Exams for the candidates to the MD diploma of « FMH Specialist in Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology ».
Our Society may provide some financial support for the formation of a member or a PhD student (please contact the Committee for further information).
A group of members is involved in the periodic updating of the book « Grundlagen der Arzneimitteltherapie / Bases de la Thérapeutique Médicamenteuse », published both in German and French by Documed Inc. This textbook provides a reference framework for pregraduate education in Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology.

Continuous education

The yearly meeting organised by the Society includes a one-day teaching session about topics in Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology. The Society stimulates and promotes the organisation of other educational events. The list of such conferences and workshops is given on this Website, along with the corresponding credits acknowledged for continuous education. Any person willing to organise such an event and to apply for acknowledgement by the Society is kindly requested to contact the Committee as early as possible to submit the programme of the manifestation.

Clinical Consulting Service

The Society is involved in the co-ordination of the various Divisions of clinical pharmacology active among the Swiss public institutions. It aims at organising them into a Network, to facilitate information exchanges, adverse drug reaction reporting to the Swiss Pharmacovigilance Centre (Swissmedic), and detection of unusual problems in drug utilisation.
